Network Architect Project Lead
The Network Architect Project Lead will design/architect the network
infrastructure and some security technologies. This leader will be responsible for
developing and driving projects, scaling and managing a team of highly talented
developers, and maintaining a strong relationship with our customers. The Network
Architect Project Lead will conduct analysis, prepare RFPs, develop business
cases, participate as technical lead on major projects, and will engage with IT
management in technical assessments and critical troubleshooting. The Lead will
design networks and evaluate network services/technology for current and future
network development. This person plans, designs, and implements networked
systems, including configurations supporting/troubleshooting network problems
and coordinating with vendors for installation.
The ideal candidate will have experience managing projects, a deep understanding
of the application development lifecycle, strong project management skills, a proven
ability to work well in a highly dynamic environment and a passion for application
development and technical management.
Security Clearance Must have or be able to obtain a TS level Clearance.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Determines and develops architectural approaches and solutions, conducts business reviews, documents current systems, and develops recommendations of how to proceed with the applications.
- Translates business needs into long-term architecture solutions
- Leads efforts to architect complex technical solutions, coordinating with all necessary subject matter experts.
- Be the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for multiple corporate applications/programs, Corporate IT hardware and Network devices
- Participates as technical lead on major projects and application roll-outs.
- Develops project plans, determine goals, time frames, funding limitations, risks, procedures for accomplishing the project, staffing requirements, and allotment of resources.
- Identifies and schedules project deliverables, milestones and tasks.
- Keeps management, clients and others informed of project status, risks and related issues.
- Manages the project cost to ensure it falls within budget constraints.
REQUIREMENTS
- BS Degree in Computer Science, MIS or related technical field.
- 5 + years of IT architecture experience.
- Excellent interpersonal, oral/presentation and written communication skills in both technical and non-technical language.
- Strong leadership, project and team building skills – ability to lead teams and drive projects and initiatives by working effectively with others with a demonstrated ability to work cross departmentally.
- Conceptual and analytical thinker – ability to extract, analyze and documentcomplex business and technical requirements/strategies from customers and IT team members.
- Experience working with two or more of the following applications:
- Riverbed, NetApp, EMC, BMC, VMWare, Data Domain, IBM, Symantec.
